Ok I made this dish this weekend and I'll be making it frequently! It was awesome to dump these ingredients in the crockpot the night before and wake up to the smell of this yummy dish!
s( I don't know if it's just my lack of photography skills, but I promise it tastes better than this picture shows!)
Maybe the picture from the website I took it off of might appeal to you more, yes?
Ok now I KNOW you want to make this! Here is the recipe!
1 C steel cut oats
1 1/2 C milk
1 1/2 C water
2 TBSP brown sugar
2 peeled and diced apples
2 tsp. ground flax seed (which I didn’t have so I didn’t use)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon (I used 1 tsp.)
1 1/2 TBSP butter cut into pieces
1/4 tsp. salt
First, spray the crockpot with butter spray. Then mix all ingredients together. Turn on low and cook for 7 hours.
It's really important you spray the crock pot, I didn't well enough and it was hard to get some of it off the bottom. Also, I used 2 cups of oats with the recipe just as it was and I thought that was just right. I also added one packet of Splenda to my dish after it was cooked and it was the perfect "sweetness" Try it and let me know what you think!
